Husdjurskompaniet started in the autumn of 2019 in Maja Lindströmömöm's spare bedroom in Linköping. She had spent three years working in a physical pet shop in central Linköping and kept noticing the same problem: the products that actually worked for her customers' animals were rarely the ones with the biggest shelf presence. The shop stocked what the distributors pushed, not what the animals needed. When she left to start something of her own, the idea was simple: an online shop where every product on the list had been chosen deliberately, with a reason.
